Walking on Water 2.0 Blazer Edition

So we decided to take the walking on water theme to another lever with the version 2.0. We utilized a blazer base with a semi-clear blue mid sole and some other interesting characteristics. These were debuted at the Clash of the Customizers gallery in LA in December, and now we are officially releasing the pics. If you are interested in grabbing the pair from the clash (the ones in these pics) hit us up. They are a size 9.5, and not guaranteeing anything but a little birdie told us that there may be a run of about 6-10 of these made, but you didn’t hear that from us ;-).

Walking on Water 1.0 Wear and Tear Update

Ok so everyone wants to know how the the walking on water dunk lows have held up. After talking to some people and getting their input on the whole “painting on the soles” thing we expected at least some nicks and chips to be in the paint. We by no means thought we completely solved the issue just maybe made it more durable. And of course, the person that ordered these shoes where forewarned or the “dangers” of painting on the sole.

Well we asked our friend to bring the shoes by for  us to inspect and take some pics. We were decently happy with the results. Most of the wear and tear came from how he wore the shoes, little nicks and scuffs from him actually banging up against certain things. Also most of the nicks, peals, and scratches where located in an area where less of the coat was applied, near the bottom of the out sole.

Overall we have to say we were pleased with how the design held up on the sole. And like we said he was forewarned and is completely happy with the shoe. So without further ado here are the pics for the Walking on water 1.0 update!

Graffiti Explosion Dunk Highs

Back in December we were contacted by a company in New York that wanted us to customize some of their products as well as some shoes to be displayed at a convention. The products included DJ headphones and an iPhone carrying case. We matched a colorful graffiti design on a pair of dunk highs as well. The headphones and iPhone case were yet another first for Diversitile.

Adidas Concrete Crooks

We wanted to show these kicks because we are consistently working on doing something different with customs by using or mimicking other textures such as metal or wood or marble. So these shoe were inspired along those lines. The Adidas Concrete Crooks were actually a sister pair to a pair we did a couple years ago, the Vine Villains, with similar monsters and layout. The shoe features a concrete type texture that feels like real concrete and is bendable and forms to the shoe, complete with cracks and depth added to the rock, a painterly cow-like pattern on the tongue and red panels to make it pop.

VIRUS BLAZERS

One thing that Diversitile has always prided ourselves on, is having he ability to bring the customer’s idea to life on the shoes. No matter how detailed or complicated the idea may be, we feel that we can make it happen on the shoe. Our latest order, put this claim of ours to the test.

One of our return customers came to us with an idea that embodied himself to the fullest, but pushed our creative talents as well. The shoes portray himself fighting off a army of evil viruses, with his own army of antibiotics, fluids, and scalpel by his side.  Of course, our initial reaction was “WOW, what a crazy idea!”, but we sat down and came up with a comic book style rendition of his concept. Basically transforming him into a “Wound Care Specialist” Superhero!!

Walking on Water Dunk lows

These Dunks were inspired by a friends desire to portray his faith on his shoes. He came to us with the idea to depict one of the greatest acts of faith on his feet, which is  Peter walking on water in the Bible. We loved the concept and thought to ourselves, “Why not make our friend, walk on water himself?” So that is exactly what we did. By putting water on the bottom of his shoes we made sure that wherever he goes he is walking on water. Giving new meaning to the phrase, Step Clean!.

Along with being an innovative concept, we also tested a new technique on this pair. As you can see the soles are painted, and as a matter of fact the majority of the design is located on the soles. We utilized a new sealing method to protect the paint on the soles and prevent it from scratching away. This opens the door for future designs on soles. One small step for Diversitile, one big step for custom kicks!!
